Peligro

"Peligro" is the second studio album by Colombian singer and songwriter Shakira. It was released in late March 1993, when the singer had just turned 16 years old. With this album, both Shakira and Sony Discos aimed to give her a bigger push in her home country. However, not being satisfied with the final result, Shakira did not want to heavily promote the LP. As a result, she gave few live performances and only had one official music video for the song "Tú serás la historia de mi vida." Shakira also did not want Sony Music to promote the LP, but the record company sent it to some local radio stations for promotion. The sales outcome for this album was even more dramatic than the previous one, with just under 1,000 units sold. The most played singles were "Tú serás la historia de mi vida" and "Eres." With "Eres," she won third place in the international section of the Viña del Mar Festival in Chile, where Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin was one of the judges. He commented, "I had never met someone so talented before."
